Ezra Blount, who was on life support for days after he was 'kicked, stepped on and trampled' during the crowd crush at the Texas show, has passed away, his family confirms.

AceShowbiz - The death toll from the 2021 Astroworld Festival continues to rise as a tenth victim is dead. Ezra Blount, a 9-year-old boy who was trampled during the chaos at the Houston, Texas concert, has passed away from his injuries.

Ezra's family confirmed the sad news on Sunday, November 14. Through their attorney Ben Crump, the family said in a statement to ABC13, "The Blount family is grieving the incomprehensible loss of their precious young son."

Calling it "heartbreaking," the family continued, "This should not have been the outcome of taking their son to a concert, what should have been a joyful celebration. Ezra's death is absolutely heartbreaking. We are committed to seeking answers and justice for the Blount family. But we stand in solidarity with the family, in grief, and in prayer."

Ezra attended the music festival on November 5 with his father Treston Blount. The boy was placed in a medically induced coma after being "kicked, stepped on, and trampled" at the event. His major organs, including his lungs, liver and kidneys, had been damaged and his brain was swollen.

On November 10, a ninth victim, Bharti Shahani, had passed away after being declared brain dead one day earlier. The 22-year-old student reportedly suffered several heart attacks and was rushed to a local hospital.

Eight other victims aged 14 to 27 died on the night of the concert. Ezra's family is among 200 people who are represented by Ben Crump, who has filed at least 93 lawsuits against Travis Scott (II) and promoters Live Nation for negligence.

In the lawsuit filed earlier this month on behalf of Ezra's family, the attorney alleges the rapper and concert promoters at Live Nation "egregiously failed in their duty to protect the health, safety and lives" of all concertgoers by failing to provide adequate security and emergency medical support.
