AceShowbiz - LeBron James apparently has as many haters as he has supporters. The Los Angeles Lakers player is dubbed the most hated player in the NBA, based on a recent social media study conducted by SportsInsider.com.
The research used geotagged Twitter data from the last month, which tracks negative mentions of the league's greatest players. The research dictated that phrases such as "I hate LeBron" or "LeBron sucks" are used to inform the data of the study. Over 70,000 hashtags and tweets were tracked and the findings have concluded that LeBron is in fact the most hated player in the NBA in 24 different states.
Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving is the second-least favorite NBA star with 18 states. Kyrie's teammates James Harden and Kevin Durant are next with three each, while Washington Wizards' Russell Westbrook and Los Angeles Clippers' Paul George tie at one.
Upon finding the results of the study, LeBron's biggest critics Skip Bayless took to Twitter to express his lack of surprise for the unflattering title now given to the 36-year-old athlete. "A national poll finds that the most hated player in the NBA is … LeBron James. No surprise here. Can't wait to discuss on tomorrow's Undisputed. I'm told Shannon is out of his mind over this," so he tweeted.
With a career that has spanned almost two decades, LeBron is considered one of the best NBA players in history. He is frequently compared to Michael Jordan and passed team legend Kobe Bryant for third on the all-time regular season scoring list in January 2020.
He, however, has also drawn criticism which reached its peak when he decided to join the Miami Heat in 2010. Most recently, it's reported that he is switching his jersey from No. 23 back to No. 6 next season after donning the number in his new movie "Space Jam: A New Legacy".
