The Kevin McCallister depicter takes to Twitter and Instagram to share his take on what an updated 'Home Alone' would actually look like after Disney announces plan to revisit the classic comedy film.

AceShowbiz - Macaulay Culkin has reacted after Disney announced its plans to reboot the "Home Alone" franchise for its streaming service Disney+. Taking to his Twitter and Instagram account, the Kevin McCallister depicter imagines how his character would look like and what he is up to when he's home alone by himself these days.

The 38-year-old actor posted on Wednesday, August 7 a photo of himself sitting on a couch, patting his full belly and eating takeout while looking at a laptop placed on his lap. Sporting thin mustache and a white headband, he lets his belly protrude from his partly lifted shirt. "This is what an updated Home Alone would actually look like," he captioned it.

Some of his fans and followers think that Culkin idea for a modern day "Home Alone" is interesting. Sarah Michelle Gellar commented, "I would still watch it though," while Seth Green simply wrote in response, "FULL SUPPORT."

Culkin isn't the only one who has shared his reaction to the planned reboot. Some people think that the studio should not touch the classic comedy film. "Why ruin a classic?!" one reacted. Another expressed her/his frustration, "Just when I thought I couldn't take anymore this year, I learn that Disney wants to remake Home Alone."

Another concerned fan pointed out the failed sequels of 1990's "Home Alone". "Nobody wants this," the said person claimed. "Want proof? There are 4 sequels to Home Alone that nobody cares about. The first movie was perfect. No reboot or sequel will ever recapture the magic that was the orginal (sic)."

Other similar comments read, "Home Alone 1 & 2 are classic, sequels were never the same without Macaulay. Leave them Alone!" and "Home Alone should have never been more than a single film. Sequels and reboots water down the franchise. Its a premise that only works once."

It's not clear, though, if the "Home Alone" reboot would be films or TV series. Besides the comedy film, Disney plans to reimagine other kid-friendly titles, including "Night at the Museum", "Cheaper by the Dozen" and "Diary of a Wimpy Kid", for its streaming service.
