Also kicking off the annual big game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta is Chloe x Halle, who sings 'America the Beautiful'.

AceShowbiz - Super Bowl LIII has finally started. Returning to her hometown of Atlanta, Gladys Knight kicked off the annual big game on Sunday, February 3 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium by delivering a rousing rendition of the National Anthem.

Surrounded by members of the military, the Empress of Soul dazzled in a white dress and silver booties with an embellished headband. Knight definitely gave it her all as she hit every note on "The Star-Spangled Banner" beautifully, making the audience cheer loudly for her. As she hit the final note, F-16 Fighting Falcons flew over the stadium in formation.

Just like the crowd at the venue, viewers at home couldn't help but gush over her. "That was the most emotional national anthem of all time. What a voice!" one comment read. "This was exceedingly wonderful. Thank you, Gladys Knight for the beautiful rendition of our National Anthem," another write, while one other said, "Simply amazing she gave me chills and her voice is just as wonderful as ever so proud to have you Gladys keep doing what you do."

Ahead of her performance, Knight admitted in an interview that she considered turning down the offer to perform national support in support of Colin Kaepernick. "Everybody got their opinions about whatever it is," she said. "But once we get into that love thing, it all just comes together and just goes wherever and we end up clapping and having a good time."

Knight joins a flew of stunning singers who have performed the national anthem at the Super Bowl, including Pink, Luke Bryan, Lady GaGa and Idina Menzel.

Besides Knight, duo Chloe x Halle also took the field to belt out "America the Beautiful". The pair, who are mentored by Beyonce Knowles, gave a beautiful rendition of the song in glittery black outfits.

Maroon 5, Travis Scott (II) and Big Boi will later headline the halftime show.
