After the Patty Tolan depicter is met with backlash for her online rant over the planned 'Ghostbusters 3', the director of the 2016 film calls out Internet trolls and declares his support at his female star.

AceShowbiz - Moviemaker Paul Feig has offered his support to his "Ghostbusters (2016)" star Leslie Jones after she attacked studio bosses for announcing plans to make a sequel to the original two movies.
Jones lashed out on Monday, January 21, calling the planned "Ghostbusters 3" an insult to the stars of Feig's 2016 female-led remake, in which she starred alongside Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig and Kate McKinnon.
"So insulting. Like f**k us. We dint (didn't) count," she raged on social media. "It's like something (President) Trump would do. (Trump voice) 'Gonna redo ghostbusteeeeers, better with men, will be huge. Those women ain't ghostbusteeeeers' ugh so annoying. 'Such a d**k move. And I don't give f**k I'm saying something! (sic)."

As expected, her comments were met with disapproval from hardcore fans of the original two movies, who were thrilled to hear "Ghostbusters" and "Ghostbusters 2" director Ivan Reitman's son, Jason Reitman, was behind the new film.
Many took aim at Jones and now Feig has come out in support of his leading lady, tweeting: "An absolute honest to God never ending supply of bulls**t and hate from these trolls. Leslie spoke her truth and I support her."
"I am very open to Jason's new version of GB but am also sad that our 2016 team may not get to bust again... We're forever proud of our movie."

The planned fourth "Ghostbusters" film will completely ignore Feig's movie and will serve as a pure sequel to Ivan Reitman's 1989 "Ghostbusters 2".
Following the fallout from her initial rant, Jones attempted to clarify her comments, adding: "The point is if they make this new one with all men and it does well which it will. It might feel that 'boys are better' it makes my heart drop. Maybe I could have use different words but I'm allowed to have my feelings just like them."
