Tracy Oliver is teaming up with Paramount Pictures to develop a remake to the 1995 comedy, which catapulted its stars including Alicia Silverstone to worldwide fame.

AceShowbiz - "Clueless" is the latest cult classic movie which is getting a reboot treatment. A new version of the 1995 comedy is in the works at Paramount Pictures, with "Girls Trip" writer Tracy Oliver on board as producer, Deadline reports.

"GLOW" writer Marquita Robinson is attached to pen the script. Other details are not available as of now, since the project is still early in development. There's no word either on if the remake will be a fresh take with a current setting and if any of the original stars will be reprising their roles.

Oliver tweeted after news of the "Clueless" remake was released online, "Crazy excited to be producing a *new* take on one of my favorite movies of all time, #Clueless, with the hilarious and super talented @MarqRobinson writing it!!! As. If."

The original movie was directed and written by Amy Heckerling. The coming-of-age romantic comedy was loosely based on Jane Austen's 1815 novel "Emma" with updated setting of modern-day Beverly Hills.

It provided a satirical look at students at the Beverly Hills high school. The movie is famous for its catchphrase "as if!", short for "as if that were true", which came from Heckerling's study of how that era's teenagers talked.

It starred Alicia Silverstone, Paul Rudd, Breckin Meyer, Jeremy Sisto, Stacey Dash and the late Brittany Murphy, who rose to a new level of fame following the movie's release. The movie received generally positive reviews from critics and grossed $56.1 million in the United States.

It later spawned a spin-off TV series and a series of books. Silverstone was replaced by Rachel Blanchard on the sitcom, but Dash returned for the TV show along with Donald Faison and Elisa Donovan.
