The 'Fetish' singer's health issue reportedly took a toll on her emotional condition as her white blood cell count was alarmingly low since late last month.

AceShowbiz - Selena Gomez is seeking treatment for her mental health issue. The 26-year-old singer had an emotional breakdown after she was hospitalized twice in the last two weeks, according to TMZ. She has reportedly checked into a mental health facility.

The "Monte Carlo" star's downward spiral allegedly began in the last week of September, when she had an emergency due to an alarmingly low white blood cell count in the wake of her kidney transplant. Sources say a family member drove her from her Studio City, California home to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and she was already "despondent and emotional" at the time.

She was released after a few days at the hospital, but had to be re-admitted late last week because her condition wasn't improving, and it sent her "into a downward emotional spiral," according to the sources.

The former Disney darling reportedly refused to stay in the hospital, but doctors told her she could not leave. It was at the time that Selena had "a meltdown" and "freaked out," with her trying to rip the IV's out of her arm during what sources call "an emotional breakdown."

Selena is said to be currently treated at an East Coast psychiatric facility, where she is receiving dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). The "Wolves" songstress has reportedly received the same therapy, which is used to treat various mental health disorders, in the past.

Selena previously went to rehab in 2014 to seek treatment for various issues, including alcohol, pot and prescription Ambien. At the time, she reportedly blamed Justin Bieber for her problems. She was treated at The Meadows in Arizona for two weeks.

In summer 2017, the former "Wizards of Waverly Place" star became gravely ill as a complication from lupus and she needed a kidney transplant. She received a kidney transplant from actress and friend Francia Raisa.

Selena recently announced that she's taking a break from social media, writing on September 23, "Just remember - negative comments can hurt anybody's feelings."
