The Guns N' Roses star had recorded a version of 'Doctor Alibi' with the late rocker, but Chester's band Linkin Park didn't allow it to be released at the time.

AceShowbiz - Guns N' Roses star Slash has asked Chester Bennington's family to let him release a track he recorded with the tragic Linkin Park frontman.
The singer's band blocked Chester's version of Doctor Alibi, which appeared on Slash's self-titled debut album, and the guitarist turned to late Motorhead star Lemmy instead.
But Slash tells Variety that he and Bennington completed the demo recording, which now belongs to the vocalist's family.
"When I was doing my first solo record, I worked with a lot of different people, some of whom, for whatever reason, didn't end up on the record," he said.
"One was with Chester. We did a song and Linkin Park at the time didn't allow it to happen, so I did it with Lemmy... It was really good. He (Bennington) was awesome. It would be fine with me if they wanted to do (release) it. Musically, it's the same as the Lemmy song, but the lyrics are really poignant... They really (spoke) to his (Bennington's) state of mind."
