AceShowbiz - On December 6, 2024, Slash took to Instagram to remember Lucy-Bleu, who would have turned 26 that day. He shared two photos, one showing her with red lipstick and a cat, and another featuring her sitting with his girlfriend Meegan Hodges's daughter at a table.
Slash wrote in his heartfelt caption, "Happy Birthday dearest Lucy. We celebrate today what would have been your 26th year in our hearts. We miss you so much it's indescribable. Love you forever."
Lucy-Bleu's passing came as a shock to many after her sudden suicide on July 19, 2024. Slash and her mother, Meegan Hodges, released a joint statement announcing her death on July 21.
In the statement, they described her as "an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, lovable, sweet soul." They asked for privacy during this difficult time.
Later that day, a final post from Lucy-Bleu was shared on Instagram, in which she apologized for past actions and expressed regret for missed opportunities.
According to a report released by the Los Angeles Medical Examiner, Lucy-Bleu's cause of death was hydrogen sulfide toxicity, and her manner of death was ruled a suicide. She was found unresponsive in a private residence during a welfare check.
Her family revealed that she had a history of undiagnosed mental illness and had experienced paranoia and hallucinations. She had left suicide notes for her loved ones.
Slash initially dated Lucy-Bleu's mother in 1989 before rekindling their relationship in 2015. He also shares two sons with his ex-wife, Perla Ferrar.
Lucy-Bleu's passing serves as a tragic reminder of the importance of mental health awareness and suicide prevention. If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available through organizations like Mental Health America and the Crisis Text Line.
