AceShowbiz - Paul McCartney returned to the fabled Abbey Road pedestrian crossing on Monday, July 23, almost 49 years to the day since The Beatles' iconic album cover was shot there.
Snapper Iain MacMillan captured the Fab Four crossing the road outside their studio headquarters in north London on 8 August, 1969, and McCartney returned to the spot for a photo opportunity ahead of an Abbey Road show to promote his upcoming solo album, Egypt Station.
This time, his daughter Mary was behind the camera.
Macca walked across the road wearing Birkenstock sandals, burgundy trousers and a white shirt, with a jacket flung over his shoulder, as fans gathered nearby screamed.
Inside the studio, the former Beatle performed a set of Fab Four classics and new material for an audience of superfans who won a contest by explaining why they deserved to be at the intimate gig.
