AceShowbiz - Carrie Underwood is ready to return to the spotlight. The country singer is set to perform her upcoming new single for the first time at the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas on April 15. This will mark her first public appearance since a hard fall that left her with multiple injuries last year.
She will join a star-studded list of performers for this year's award which includes Kelly Clarkson, Miranda Lambert, Kelsea Ballerini, Little Big Town and Luke Bryan. In addition to performing at the award show, she is nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year as well as Vocal Event of the Year for "The Fighter" featuring Keith Urban.
The announcement arrived just a day after Underwood teased the new song to her Instagram followers. Sharing a picture of her eye crying glitter tears, she wrote, "This Wednesday. April 11. 6am ET." The songstress also appeared to be teasing her ACM performance when she shared on the photo-sharing site a picture of her practicing with her band. "Missed these guys. #bandrehearsals," she captioned the pic.
Carrie took a hard fall outside her home on November 10, two days after she hosted the 51 annual CMA Awards in Nashville. Her rep said in a statement that the "American Idol" alum "sustained multiple injuries including a broken wrist and some cuts and abrasions from the fall."
Giving an update to her fans, she revealed an injury on her face required 40-50 stitches. "I'll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told Mike that he had put between 40 to 50 stitches in," she wrote on her fan club's website.
She shared first photo of herself since the accident on February 23, but part of her face around her lips and chin area was covered with a huge red "X" sign. She later shared a black-and-white picture which showed half of her face as she hit a recording studio.
