The upcoming season 22 of the ABC dating show which will follow the race car driver's journey to find love is set to premiere on the first Monday in 2018.

AceShowbiz - The new season of "The Bachelor" will ring in the new year. Arie Luyendyk Jr.'s season of the ABC dating show has been set to kick off on January 1, 2018.

The show has also taken to its Twitter account to share a brand new poster for the upcoming season. The new poster features the main man Arie, with his salt-and-pepper hair, sporting a sweet smile while holding a rose, which will be given to whoever the lucky lady is at the end of the season.

"Worth the wait" is written on the poster. The account captions the poster, "New Year. New @ariejr. #TheBachelor premieres Monday, January 1 at 8|7c on ABC!"

Arie was officially announced as the new Bachelor in September, with the filming kicking off a few weeks later. Producer Mike Fleiss shared a photo of the race car driver looking dapper in the ABC show's first evening filming of season 22 on Wednesday, September 20. The producer further teased that the upcoming season would feature a "fantastic group of women," forcing Arie to make "some tough choices."

Arie first appeared on the franchise when he participated in Emily Maynard's "The Bachelorette" season 8. During the season, Arie earned the nickname "Kissing Bandit" and made it to final two before losing to Jef Holm.

Of Arie's casting for the new season of "The Bachelor", Emily said, "I can't think of a better person to be The Bachelor than Arie and I've been hoping this day would come since Season 8 ended! He's a gentleman through and through and all the girls on his season are lucky to have him. I'll be wishing him nothing but the best because that's absolutely what he deserves!"
