When you want something so bad, all the universe conspires in helping you to make it happen. That is the case with Melissa McCarthy's return for "Gilmore Girls" revival. After months of denial that she would make appearance on the Netflix series, the actress has now confirmed that she would reprise her role as Sookie St. James.

The "Ghostbusters" star announced the good news when stopping by "The Ellen DeGeneres Show". The 45-year-old comedienne told the audience that while they initially could not get the schedules to work, she just learned one-and-a-half hours before her appearance on the daytime talk show that she would return after all. "I'm so excited... and they're gonna be amazing," she gushed.

Series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino previously told EW that they kept hope alive for McCarthy's appearance while filming is still underway. "We're here until May 10," she said, "I know what the scene is. I'll pre-light it for her. She can drive up, run in, shoot it, and run out. I can get her in and out in two hours. If she finds that time, I don't care when it is, we will make it happen."

McCarthy will reunite with Lauren Graham who will return as Lorelai Gilmore, Sookie's best friend. Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop, Yanic Truesdale, Keiko Agena, Liza Weil, Danny Strong, Milo Ventimiglia, Jared Padalecki and Matt Czuchry have also been confirmed to return for the four-episode continuation.
