'Suits' Reveals Who Turned Mike In and Showrunner Justifies It

Series creator and EP Aaron Korsh explains the shocking reveal, 'I specifically wanted someone [whose] only reason was it was the right thing to do.'

AceShowbiz - Instead of dragging it too long, "Suits" revealed who sold Mike out in the second episode of its season 5b and the person is someone whom you might not expect. It turns out [SPOILER ALERT!] Sheila Sazs, Louis Litt's ex-fiancee, was the one who sent an anonymous email to the feds to let them know that Mike might be a fraud.

Sheila, played by Rachael Harris, had no ulterior motive behind her act and that's why showrunner Aaron Korsh chose her. He tells TVLine, "Many of the ideas the writers had of who did it, ultimately, were people doing it for some selfish or personal gain. For example, Logan Sanders to get back at Mike or try to get Rachel. Or Rachel's parents to try to get him away from their daughter. Or Claire to try to get him away from her."

"I didn't want to have someone who had good reason to turn him in, like [for] revenge or some ulterior motive. I specifically wanted someone [whose] only reason was it was the right thing to do," he adds.

So why it had to be Sheila? Korsh explains to EW, "She's straight, on the up-and-up, and this is an affront to her beloved Harvard Law School. She did it because it was the right thing, and I like that motivation better than someone trying to stick it to him."

On how this will affect Sheila's relationship with Louis, Korsh dishes, "He's certainly not going to do nothing about this. It will affect his relationship with her more than it will his attitude toward Mike. But, it's going to have a little snowball effect. Some of the actions he's going to take are going to affect the case.... It's going to have ramifications that last through this season."

Korsh adds that Sheila "thinks she's helped out in catching somebody that was perpetrating a fraud on the institution that each one of them loves, Pearson Specter Litt and Harvard," but then "she realizes, 'Holy s**t, Louis is in on this!' Moving forward, he feels betrayed by the fact that she said she wouldn't come forward and he feels like she did."

Anita has come after Donna through her father. Asked what Anita's next move would be, Korsh shares, "She starts with Donna and then goes up the ranks after people to get them to turn on each other. That's going to happen through the end of the season, and next week is the next step in that."
