'It was very well received,' says the presidential candidate, adding that he might help boost the show's ratings.

AceShowbiz - Donald Trump is known for his pride and he once again showed this attitude following his appearance on "Saturday Night Live". Speaking on CNN's "State of the Union" on Sunday morning, November 8, he gushed, "It was terrific," and predicted, "It was very well received and probably got very good ratings, who knows."

Later, the ratings were revealed and Trump indeed helped boost the show's ratings. The November 7 episode he hosted averaged a 6.6 rating in the metered-market households and a 2.7 in adults 18-49 in the local people meters.

The 6.6 metered-market household rating was the highest for "SNL" in four years, since January 7, 2012 when Charles Barkley hosted the show (7.0/ 18). The 2.7 rating in the adults demo, meanwhile, was the show's highest since February 1, 2014, when Melissa McCarthy was the host (2.9/ 12).

Trump couldn't help boasting about the ratings on Twitter. He tweeted, "Television ratings for @nbcsnl Saturday Night Live just came out and they were great - the best since 2011. Very few protesters!" He added in another post, "Thank you to all of those who gave me such wonderful reviews for my performance on @nbcsnl Saturday Night Live. Best ratings in 4 years!"

Trump's "SNL" hosting gig drew mixed reactions following his anti-immigrant statements in the past. Some Latino groups held protests outside NBC's Rockefeller Center studios during the "SNL" taping on Saturday, slamming the network's decision to give 90-minute airtime to the Republican front-runner known for his hardline stance against illegal immigration.
