The Japanese-American film and television actor, who left 'Chicago Med' after eight seasons, is not only back to direct episodes but also open to a guest appearance as Dr. Ethan Choi.

AceShowbiz - Despite leaving "Chicago Med" in 2022, Brian Tee has not completely severed ties with the Windy City. Since his departure, he has returned to direct episodes of the NBC medical drama twice. However, the question remains: will he ever reprise his role as Dr. Ethan Choi?

In an interview during the Gotham TV Awards, Tee shared that the possibility of returning on screen is always a topic of conversation. "It's interesting. Every season, Chicago Med goes through a bit of a flux," he remarked. "But I get to come back and play with all the cast and crew on the director side of things."

Tee added that while there is no imminent plan for his character's return, the door is always open. "If the right time or the right storyline comes along, maybe it might happen," he said. "It's one of those things that you never say goodbye."

As for what could bring Dr. Choi back to Med, Tee has an idea: "I think probably the hospital needs help. Some kind of tragedy is about to happen, some kind of major catastrophe drama," he proposed. "And maybe they bring back myself and Will Halstead [played by Nick Gehlfuss] and [Ethan's wife] April [played by Yaya DaCosta] and bring back some of the old crew to kind of fix things to what it was."

In the meantime, Tee is eager to expand his directorial skills to other parts of the One Chicago universe. "That would be my next thing. It's not quite on the docket yet, but it's on the docket for me, hopefully," he expressed. "Everyone there, as far as P.D. and Fire, is doing incredible work."
