Janel and Alfonso are among those making it to the finals, while Tommy Chong can't survive the elimination after landing in the bottom two in the last several weeks.

AceShowbiz - With one week left to go on "Dancing with the Stars" season 19, only the best couples remain in the competition. Tommy Chong, the weakest dancer among the top five, was eliminated in the semifinals on Monday, November 17, leaving Alfonso Robeiro, Bethany Mota, Janel Parrish and Sadie Robertson competing for the Mirror Ball trophy next week. "I just showed that old stoners can perform when they need to," the comedian said upon learning of the results.

Earlier that night, Tommy and Peta Murgatroyd danced a jazz to "Tainted Love" and later danced a rumba to a different version of the same song. The judges were all being nice, with Bruno Tonioli saying he enjoyed every minute of it and Julianne Hough calling it "great entertainment" after the pair's first dance. The judges gave 28 out of 40 points.

Their second dance was better as Bruno noted, "This was so touching and the best performance for the two of you so far." Len Goodman also praised Tommy, "You are not always a judges favorite, you are America's favorite and nobody as old you will ever make it this far again." The comedian earned 34 points for a total of 62.

Alfonso Ribeiro, meanwhile, made his fans feel relieved when he finally showed up to dance after injuring his back during rehearsal last week. He and Witney Carson slowed down during their Argentine tango to "Love Runs Out", but the judges didn't complain. "You're a fighter and that is what showed tonight," Julianne declared. Carrie Ann Inaba thought his "posture was phenomenal" despite the injury. The judges gave him 36 points.

Alfonso and Witney danced a contemporary in the unplugged round. Len praised him for working "through the pain" and he loved the drama of the dance. Carrie Ann gushed, "This is how you pave your way to the finals, you showed us a whole new side." He earned 39 points for a total score of 75.

Bethany Mota and Derek Hough danced a samba to "I Want You Back" in the first round. Carrie Ann thought it "wasn't the best vehicle for you," but Bruno said it's "well done." Len said, "It was a bit like cotton candy, light and fluffy, but sticky here and there. I still liked it." The YouTube personality earned 36 points.

Bethany showed her best in the second dance, a contemporary number, which was deemed "a modern masterpiece" by Bruno. Len compared it to a work by Picasso, while Carrie Ann said, "It was breathtaking." She earned 40 points for a total score of 76.

Janel Parrish danced a paso doble to "Blame" with Val Chmerkovskiy. It won the hearts of the judges who gave her a perfect score of 40. "I wanted more, that was over way to soon," Carrie Ann said after the performance. Bruno gushed, "Fierce, bold and powerful, you really set the stage on fire."

The pair later returned for an Argentine tango number. The judges liked it, although Carrie Ann gave a note about her lifts. Len, meanwhile, said she "could have been a little more sharp." The judges gave her 38 for a total score of 78.

Sadie Robertson and Mark Ballas first danced a quickstep to "Problem". Len said he was "a little disappointed, I found nothing I didn't like about the dance." Julianne called the reality TV star "a breath of fresh air." Bruno loved that they "added some hip hop." The "Duck Dynasty" star earned 37 points.

The pair later danced an Argentine tango. Bruno commented, "I found you very grownup in the dance, everything was correct, you did well." Carrie Ann said, "I have so much respect for you, you are very young but you suited the song very well, I am so proud of you." The judges gave Sadie 37 points for a total score of 73.

"DWTS" will return for the finals next Monday, November 24.
