The 'Fearless' actress and the political commentator are close to signing the deals with final details currently being worked out.

AceShowbiz - The search is over. "The View" has reportedly chosen actress/dancer/choreographer Rosie Perez and political commentator Nicolle Wallace as the new co-hosts to join moderator Whoopi Goldberg and returning co-host Rosie O'Donnell.

*ABC has not made the official announcement yet as final details of their deals are reportedly still being worked out. They will fill the seats left vacant by Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy, who exited the show in August, and are expected to make their debut on the daytime program when it kicks off its new season on September 15.

Perez, who earned an Oscar nomination for her role in Peter Weir's 1993 film "Fearless", served as a guest co-host on "The View" in February. As for Wallace, the Republican PR vet served as White House Communications Director for the last three years of George W. Bush's presidency and served as a senior advisor on John McCain's unsuccessful 2008 presidential campaign. She guest co-hosted "The View" three times this year.

ABC said in July when addressing Shepherd and McCarthy's departures that " 'The View' will be moving in an exciting new direction next season." As part of the shakeup, executive producer Bill Geddie who co-created the show with Barbara Walters exited the show after 17 years.

*UPDATE: Soon after this article was published, ABC confirms Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace are indeed joining the show. "These are powerful and accomplished women from different walks of life who have had amazing personal and professional experiences. Each brings incredible perspective and information to the table," says new executive producer Bill Wolff who replaces Bill Geddie.
