There's a long way to go before next summer, but already "Falling Skies" releases the first trailer for season 4. Unleashed at the New York Comic-Con, the video shares footage from the upcoming installment, showing the states of some characters after the events in the third season finale.

Most of the characters are separated from each other, with Tom and Weaver seemingly detained in a prison camp, while Tom's son Matt attends what looks like a military academy. New aliens and a mysterious girl staring at the moon are also teased in the snippet.

At the NYCC, new showrunner David Eick and star Doug Jones said that separation would play a large part in the upcoming chapter and the moon would act as a unifying image. Eick additionally revealed that the fourth season drew inspiration from "Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back".

"Falling Skies" season 4 will premiere in summer 2014. Treva Etienne is tapped for a guest-starring role as new addition to the resistance Dingaan Botha, reuniting with his "Terminator: Salvation" co-star Moon Bloodgood.
