Ranking at No.11, the 'Born This Way' hitmaker continues to reign over the former queen of daytime talk show after dethroning the latter from the most powerful celebrity list.
- Aug 25, 2011
AceShowbiz - 2011 apparently is the year for Lady GaGa to reign over Oprah Winfrey. Just a few months after taking over the title of the World's Most Powerful Celebrity, the "You and I" singer comes out on top of the former queen of daytime talk show on Forbes' annual list of the 100 Most Powerful Women.
This year, both GaGa and Winfrey are out from the Top 10 list, but the latter's significant drop from number 3 to number 14 gives the former a slight edge. While the "Born This Way" singer also slipped down from number 7 to number 11, she still ranks three slots higher than the media personality.
At the age of 25, GaGa becomes the youngest woman on the list. Aside from besting over Oprah, she is also deemed to be more powerful than a number of other entertainment figures, including fellow singer Beyonce Knowles (No. 18), Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie (No. 29) and supermodel Gisele Bundchen (No. 60).
Topping the list, however, is German chancellor Angela Merkel. She is followed by U.S. Secretary Hillary Clinton at No. 2 and Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff at No. 3. U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama, meanwhile, comes in at No. 8, and former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin took No. 34 position.
