According to Adam DiVello, who is "The City" creator and executive producer, Whitney Port and her boyfriend Jay Lyon have broken up since the series season finale.

Creator and executive producer of "The City", Adam DiVello, has confirmed reports of Whitney Port and Jay Lyon's separation. "Whitney and Jay are broken up as of The City season finale," Adam says.
Adam, nevertheless, doesn't mention the cause of the pair's split. He simply tells US Weekly, "There were a few factors in their relationship that led to their split and fans saw those play out on-air. As we pick up where we left off when the show returns later this year, viewers will see what unfolds as we continue to tell Whitney's story."
Whitney Port and Jay Lyon began dating last summer when she started filming her MTV series "The City" and eventually moved to Manhattan. News on their break-up was first reported by In Touch Weekly on Sunday, March 15. The publication claimed both of them agreed to take a break after she learned that he will be leaving New York City to tour with his band, Tamarama. The story was brought on-screen and aired in one episode of "The City" that was broadcast Monday, March 9.
"There was no cheating or anything like that, she's just finally fed up. She asked her close friends for advice and thinks it's best her and Jay both go their separate ways. He's not going to change and she's just sick of it," a friend of Whitney told In Touch about their separation.
