Whitney Port, widely known for her role in 'The Hills', bravely shares her experiences with fertility struggles, surrogacy, and the emotional toll it takes on her and her family.

AceShowbiz - Whitney Port is candidly updating fans on her surrogacy journey, detailing both her personal struggles and those of her surrogate. Speaking with E! News, Port, 39, reflected on her painful past miscarriages, which were initially difficult to discuss publicly.

"And I would get all these comments and questions: 'Are you doing this?' Or 'Have you seen this doctor?' And I would get really confused, and then a little bit paralyzed," she revealed.

However, having journeyed through these challenges, Port now feels empowered.

The star has faced significant hurdles along the way, including experiencing three miscarriages and a chemical pregnancy herself. Her surrogate, too, has had two losses. This intricate surrogacy journey was paused last November, as concerns arose regarding potential issues with the surrogate or the embryos.

"I took a little breather from the fertility situation," Port shared, adding that she needed time to focus on her well-being.

This break has been rejuvenating for Port, who is ready to dive back into the process. "After a bunch of tries here, with both myself and a surrogate, we're going to do another round of egg retrieval in New York," she announced. Simultaneously, she is in search of a new surrogate for the next transfer.

Although Port cherishes the experience of carrying her son Sonny Sanford, who is turning 7, she clarified that she didn't feel a stronger connection to him because of her pregnancy or childbirth.

In April, Port discussed with PEOPLE the possibility of undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) again. On Fertility, Unfiltered, a video series that chronicles the journey to parenthood, she shared, "At the moment, after two miscarriages with the surrogate and multiple miscarriages on my end, I'm at a place now where I'm starting to think about possibly carrying again."

Port is undergoing various tests to determine her ability to carry a pregnancy once more. Despite the arduous process, she remains optimistic and is determined not to let it overshadow her happiness.

Port's openness about her journey provides a poignant reminder of the emotional and physical trials involved in fertility struggles. As she presses forward, her story continues to inspire and encourage those facing similar challenges.
