AceShowbiz - Kelly Osbourne has opened up about her regret over quitting her music career. On the July 2 episode of her family's podcast, "The Osbournes," she admitted that she has contemplated a return to music and expressed remorse for her decision to stop.
When asked by her brother, Jack Osbourne, if she has thought about "getting back in the game," Kelly responded, "I've definitely thought about it. I've definitely thought about what my life would have been like if I didn't stop. It's definitely a regret. Will I do anything about that regret? I don't know."
Kelly's decision to leave music stemmed from the overwhelming demands of her reality TV fame and the pressure to balance work and personal life. "I was doing so much TV, I was doing so much touring, so much publicity, and so many interviews, and I wanted to go out and have fun," she explained. "I didn't want it to be all work and no play, and I didn't know how to even that out and have any balance in my life."
Kelly also acknowledged that she struggled with insecurity and self-esteem issues, using drugs to cope. "I covered up a lot of my insecurity and a lot of the naysaying and comparisons and just s*** talking with drugs," she said. "I numbed myself with it. So it kind of went hand in hand with that, with me, and I had to choose myself over all of that."
Kelly's music career started with a pop-metal cover of Madonna's "Papa Don't Preach" in 2002. She released two albums, "Shut Up!" and "Sleeping in the Nothing," but her label dropped her after the first album. Kelly has not released any new music since 2005.
Despite her regrets, Kelly has found success in television. She has hosted and judged shows like "Project Catwalk," "Project Runway," and "Fashion Police." She also competed on "Dancing with the Stars" and "The Masked Singer."
In recent years, Kelly has spoken about the importance of earning her place in show business despite being a "nepo baby." She has expressed pride in her parents' achievements but emphasized the need to prove herself. Kelly welcomed her first child, a son named Sidney, with Slipknot DJ Sid Wilson in 2023.
