Emerging from the crucible of a televised competition, TWICE solidified their place as one of the most iconic and successful girl groups in K-pop history. Formed in Seoul, South Korea in 2015 through the survival reality show SIXTEEN, the nine-member ensemble—consisting of Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu—debuted under JYP Entertainment with the vibrant EP "The Story Begins." While their debut single "Like OOH-AHH" found moderate success, it was their 2016 follow-up that catapulted them to national superstardom.

The single "Cheer Up" became a cultural phenomenon, dominating Korean music charts for weeks and earning the group their first major music show wins. Its infectious hook and iconic point choreography made it inescapable, and it was later crowned Song of the Year at both the Melon Music Awards and Mnet Asian Music Awards. This breakthrough established TWICE's signature formula of bright, catchy pop anthems with memorable dance moves, a style they further cemented with the massive 2017 hit "TT." Their commercial power became undeniable as they began a streak of multi-platinum-selling albums and EPs, including "Twicecoaster: Lane 1," "Signal," and "What is Love?," each release consistently topping charts and breaking sales records for a Korean girl group.

As their career progressed, TWICE demonstrated impressive artistic growth and versatility. They explored more mature concepts with the stylish "Fancy" and the synth-heavy "Feel Special," while later releases like "I CAN'T STOP ME" and "SCIENTIST" showcased a refined retro-pop sound. The group also made significant inroads into the Japanese market, debuting to tremendous success with the compilation "#TWICE" and later releasing original Japanese singles like "BDZ" and "Happy Happy," repeatedly achieving multi-platinum certifications and selling out dome tours. Their dedication to a global audience was further solidified with their first full English single, "The Feels," in 2021.

Beyond music, the members have built individual profiles through various solo activities in modeling, acting, and variety show appearances, while maintaining a cohesive group identity. Renewing their contracts with JYP Entertainment in 2022, TWICE embarked on their ambitious "READY TO BE" world tour, performing in stadiums across North America, Asia, and Australia, a testament to their enduring popularity and status as global touring artists. With a vast discography of chart-topping hits, record-breaking sales, and a deeply connected international fanbase known as ONCE, TWICE continues to evolve while remaining a dominant and beloved force in the global pop landscape.
