Dr. Andy Yablonski and the team of doctors at Three Rivers Hospital are introduced to us through the lives of three individuals that suddenly face circumstances that force all three and their families to make life or death choices. One family must decide whether to donate their young son's organs in order to save the lives of others. An ex-football star who has taken his partying ways to an extreme, a young man known as a good kid who loses his life in a random car jacking and a young woman who has had a life-long battle with cancer, find their lives intersect at Three Rivers. Our doctors attempt to help these patients and their families make the tough choices. We meet Miranda, who is promoted in this season opener to lead the donor runs; Ryan, the fresh faced kid who is the new coordinator and Dr. Jordan who is the head of surgery at the hospital. We begin to see the wonderful bonds these doctors have with one another, how serious they take their patient's care and how dedicated they are to their work.
