When Goren learns about the mistreatment of his nephew in an upstate New York prison, he decides to go undercover to investigate.
Donny, Goren's nephew, had revealed that a young inmate was tortured and starved to death at the hands of cruel guards and a warden who turns her back on the abuse. Goren must navigate these treacherous waters in order to stem the tide of abuse for prisoners who require professional mental health care, as opposed to the vicious abuse levied on them by the prison masters.
In going undercover, Goren comes face to face with his inner self, and must master and confront his own demons before he can be of help to others.
