Judge Nicholas Fenner (guest star John Dossett) charges young rapper Apokalypto, as his son Jacob, a fan of the rapper's, watches in the courtroom. As Apokalypto's posse leaves, they make some threats and days later, Jacob is found shot to death. Detectives Logan (Chris Noth) and Wheeler (Julianne Nicholson) investigate the rap angle, but find Jacob's personal life and friends, including Riordan Shea, (guest star Michael Stahl-David -"The Black Donnellys") the son of the judge's best friend, may be hiding more than they let on. Meanwhile, Detective Wheeler gets a tip that her estranged father was involved in some shady business and goes to check it out.
