Penny is tired of changing to impress men, so Jane suggests that she make the guy change for her. Brilliant! Her first subject is an immature bar regular named Jeff (guest star Ryan Hansen). The transformation won't be easy, so Jane suggests trickery. Soon Jeff is dressing differently and redecorating his apartment in a more mature way.
Jeff realizes that Penny is trying to change him just like his ex-girlfriend wanted to do. They broke up because he didn't want to sell out. But Penny is a force to be reckoned with, so the changes keep on coming. Soon Jeff is transformed into the perfect man. That's probably why he then gets engaged so quickly to his ex-girlfriend. Guess some things never change for our girl Penny.
After watching an episode of the truly disturbing reality TV show Room & Hoard, Max and Alex start thinking that Dave is addicted to V-neck shirts. They confiscate every last "V" in the apartment leaving Dave shirtless in Chicago. The first days of detox leave Dave a tad on edge. That's not a good thing for a guy who works with knives all day.
Alex and Max catch Dave wearing a v-neck behind their backs. Actually, he wears a V-neck behind his back by putting it on backwards. Alex and Max stage an intervention where Dave admits that V-necks have always made him feel safe from back in the days when he was bullied by a kid who used to pull him down by the shirt. Then Alex and Max admit they were only intervening because they were really bored.
Brad is upset by his wife's declaration that she changed him. Jane explains that she simply modified everything about him to make him better for her. Brad quickly reverts back to his old self. This includes dressing down and fulfilling a dream of videoing stupid stunts for a show he calls Blackass. All you kids out there, please don't try the Snack-Pack Mousetrap Front Flip at home.
Jane embraces the new "old" Brad with open arms. Okay, not really. She opts to withhold all the things old Brad didn't have the first time around like a tasty steak dinner. Of course, Penny points out that Jane's changed quite a bit since college. She realizes both she and Brad changed, and grew, together. Aww.
