Synopsis

Limited series premiere. Cathy (Laura Linney) plans a birthday party for Adam's (Gabriel Basso) sweet sixteen, despite Adam's objections. Paul (Oliver Platt) brings in his new assistant, Amber (Liz Holtan), to help with his motivational speaking campaign. Andrea (Gabourey Sidibe) has trouble fitting in with her new roommate at fashion school. Cathy gets some surprising news from Dr. Sherman (Alan Alda) and she begins seeing a therapist (Kathy Najimy).
