AceShowbiz - Lily Allen has spoken for the first time about her heartbreak after suffering a miscarriage last year, 2010, calling the tragedy a "long battle". The British pop star was left devastated after she and her boyfriend Sam Cooper lost their unborn son six months into the pregnancy in October 2010.
The tragedy was compounded when Allen was hospitalized with septicemia, which can occur when fetal material in the womb becomes infected. In an emotional interview for a new U.K. TV show, "Lily Allen: From Riches to Rags", the "Smile" hitmaker admits the loss has transformed her. She says, "It was a really long battle, and I think that kind of thing changes a person."
The singer previously suffered a miscarriage in 2008 just months after she announced she was expecting a baby with The Chemical Brothers star Ed Simons.
She shot the forthcoming three-part documentary series last year 2010 as she prepared to launch a vintage boutique with her older sister Sarah.
