AceShowbiz - Pearl Jam star Jeff Ament has opened his very own skateboard park in his hometown of Big Sandy, Montana. The bassist funded the $40,000 project earlier this year and building on the recreation site was completed on Tuesday, October 12.
Ament hit the park in the early hours of Wednesday, October 13 to test out his skills on the skateboard and give the venue his seal of approval, according to local reports.
The rocker is planning to donate skateboards and safety equipment, like helmets and pads, to local children who can't afford their own gear, and he is also hoping to bring some of his famous professional skater pals to Big Sandy to put on a show in 2011.
