Eddie Griffin slams Drake’s new album ICEMAN for dissing LeBron James, calling it unworthy of support.

AceShowbiz - Comedian Eddie Griffin has openly expressed his disapproval of rapper Drake and his latest album, particularly targeting a track rumored to diss NBA superstar LeBron James.
During a recent episode of NNN, Griffin discussed the controversy surrounding “Make Them Remember,” a song from Drake’s album ICEMAN, which dropped on May 15 alongside two other albums, HABIBTI and MAID OF HONOUR.
Despite the hype, Griffin admitted he has not listened to the album, dismissing it as something he refuses to support. His main gripe centers around Drake allegedly calling out LeBron James after the basketball star publicly showed support for West Coast rapper Kendrick Lamar. James was in attendance at Lamar’s 2024 Pop Out concert in Los Angeles, enjoying the track “Not Like Us.”
Griffin mocked the situation by pointing out that James, whom Drake appears to criticize, was seen taking photos with Kendrick Lamar, whom Drake seemingly views as an adversary. The comedian also made a metaphorical jab at Drake, suggesting he should quietly retreat instead of confronting the issue.
While Drake never mentions James directly in the song, there are lyrics that hint at the Lakers star’s jersey number and aspects of his professional career, fueling speculation about the intended target.
Commercially, Drake’s ICEMAN proved to be a massive success, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 463,000 equivalent album units sold in its first week. This achievement marked the second-largest sales week of 2026 and the biggest for any R&B or hip-hop album so far this year. Remarkably, ICEMAN, HABIBTI, and MAID OF HONOUR simultaneously occupied the top three spots on the Billboard 200 chart.
The success of ICEMAN also gave Drake his 15th No. 1 album, surpassing Jay-Z among solo male and R&B/hip-hop artists and tying him with Taylor Swift for the most No. 1 solo albums overall.
Despite the commercial triumph, Griffin remains unconvinced about the artistic quality of Drake’s work and has no intentions of adding the rapper’s latest releases to his playlist.
