AceShowbiz - Kodak Black has pleaded not guilty to charges arising from a tumultuous traffic stop in Broward County, Florida. The incident, which took place on February 27, 2026, involved a high-profile vehicle pursuit and armed individuals, leading to dramatic developments.
The sequence began when deputies observed a pink Jeep Grand Cherokee committing a traffic violation in Pompano Beach. Law enforcement attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver initially failed to comply. Eventually, the Jeep stopped near the intersection of Northwest 18th Drive and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, prompting the driver to exit and interact with the deputy.
The situation escalated rapidly as two additional vehicles arrived on the scene. Occupants of these cars claimed to be security personnel for the driver, with one man visibly carrying a firearm on his waistband. Despite repeated commands from the deputy to step back, the men lingered near the stop, raising tension.
While deputies awaited backup, the driver of the Jeep returned to the vehicle and fled the area, triggering a pursuit. Authorities located the Jeep minutes later and conducted a second traffic stop. A K9 unit then detected narcotics inside the car, leading to a search that uncovered 16 grams of Oxycodone, three grams of cannabis, and high-value jewelry worth $26,490. The jewelry featured the "SG" emblem, which is associated with Sniper Gang.
Additional items found included cash and the keys to the vehicle. According to WPBF, the Jeep was registered to Kodak Black, whose identity was further confirmed when deputies matched his clothing to Instagram photos posted on the day of the stop.
Kodak Black was booked into Broward County Jail on May 14, facing multiple charges linked to the incident. These include fleeing or eluding law enforcement and resisting an officer without violence. He is currently out on bond pending further legal proceedings.
Kodak Black made a court appearance on May 15, which marked the second arrest in just over a week for the rapper. Earlier, he faced separate drug trafficking charges in Central Florida, to which he also pleaded not guilty. For that case, his bond was set at $75,000.
