AceShowbiz - Kim Mathers, the ex-wife of rapper Eminem, was arrested for DUI once again just days after pleading guilty to similar charges in a Michigan court. This latest incident occurred early Thursday morning in Macomb County, Mt. Clemens.
The arrest followed an event the previous night near Detroit, where Kim Mathers reportedly struck a parked vehicle while driving under the influence. The parked car, a Dodge Ram, was hit with such force that it was pushed approximately 50 feet down the street. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the crash.
After hitting the parked Dodge Ram, Kim Mathers did not stop but instead drove home, where she crashed her Range Rover into her own garage door. Law enforcement detained her at the Macomb County Jail, but she has since been released.
This recent arrest comes just three days after Kim Mathers appeared in court and pleaded no contest to charges of impaired driving and failure to report an accident stemming from a February incident. During that earlier event, she was driving with her son Parker and three of his friends when the crash occurred.
Bodycam footage from the February arrest revealed bottles containing soda allegedly laced with alcohol, and authorities recorded her taking a breathalyzer test on video. Prosecutor Pete Lucido emphasized that driving under the influence is not a mere accident but a conscious decision that endangers others on the road, signaling potential serious consequences for Kim Mathers given this repeat offense.
Kim Mathers and Eminem share a complicated history, having married in 1999, divorced in 2001, remarried in January 2006, and separated again three months later. Together, they have three children: Hailie Jade, Alaina Marie, and Stevie Laine. Parker, involved in the February incident, is from a relationship Kim Mathers had after their final split.
The sentencing for the February DUI charge is scheduled for June 17. It remains uncertain whether this new arrest will affect the upcoming hearing or lead to additional legal repercussions for Kim Mathers.
