AceShowbiz - European Film Promotion (EFP) and its member organizations have announced the 20 producers selected for the 27th edition of Producers on the Move, set to take place during the 2026 Cannes Film Festival. This prestigious networking program highlights emerging European producers poised to make an impact in the film industry.

The 2026 group notably includes two producers associated with films featured in the Cannes Official Selection. Austria’s Lixi Frank of Panama Film is the producer behind Sandra Wollner’s Everytime, which will screen in the Un Certain Regard section. Frank is also co-producer of The Dreamed Adventure, directed by Valeska Grisebach, competing in the main competition. Italy’s Stefano Centini of Volos Films Italia is also among the producers on the move, contributing to Jorge Thielen Armand’s film Death Has No Master, selected for Directors’ Fortnight.

The full list of selected producers represents a broad spectrum of European cinema, encompassing genres such as drama, comedy, thriller, fantasy, documentary, animation, and coming-of-age stories. The selection emphasizes a commitment to female-driven narratives and strong partnerships with women directors, reinforcing the vitality and diversity of contemporary European filmmaking.

Other producers joining this year’s program include Roxanne Sarkozi (Belgium), Constantinos Nikiforou (Cyprus), Dagmar Sedlá?ková (Czech Republic), Maria Møller Kjeldgaard (Denmark), Marianne Ostrat (Estonia), Daniel Kuitunen (Finland), Julie Billy (France), Philipp Trauer (Germany), Danae Spathara (Greece), Sunna Guðnadóttir (Iceland), Julianne Forde (Ireland), Marion Guth (Luxembourg), Olivia Sophie van Leeuwen (The Netherlands), Ivana Shekutkoska (North Macedonia), Agata Novinski (Slovak Republic), Xavi Font (Spain), Linda Mutawi (Sweden), and Michela Pini (Switzerland).

Several of these producers are linked to internationally acclaimed projects, including recent national submissions for the Academy Awards’ International Feature Film category. Estonian producer Marianne Ostrat (Alexandra Film) was involved in Smoke Sauna Sisterhood (2023), which won the directing award at Sundance’s World Cinema Documentary competition. Icelandic producer Sunna Guðnadóttir (Bjartsýn Films) is connected to Beautiful Beings (2022), Iceland’s Oscar submission.

Spanish producer Xavi Font (ZuZú Cinema) produced Sirât (2025), which won the Cannes jury prize and received two Academy Award nominations last year. Swedish producer Linda Mutawi (Fikra) contributed to Eagles of the Republic (2025), Sweden’s Oscar entry that premiered in the Cannes Film Festival competition in 2025.
