Luke Combs dominates Billboard's Country Airplay chart, holding No. 1 & No. 2 simultaneously—a historic feat he's achieved twice.
- April 25, 2026
AceShowbiz - Luke Combs has once again made history on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart by securing the No. 1 and No. 2 positions simultaneously. His songs "Sleepless in a Hotel Room" and "Days Like These" currently hold these top two spots on the chart dated May 2.
"Sleepless in a Hotel Room" is in its third consecutive week at No. 1, attracting 32.3 million audience impressions, which marks an increase of nearly 1% for the tracking week of April 17-23, according to data from Luminate. Meanwhile, "Days Like These" climbed two positions to No. 2, garnering 29.9 million audience impressions, a significant rise of 15% during the same period.
Luke Combs stands alone as the only artist to have two solo tracks without featured collaborators occupy the top two spots simultaneously—and he has accomplished this feat twice. The first instance was in September 2023, when "Love You Anyway" was No. 1 and "Fast Car" held No. 2.
Other artists have approached this achievement but with collaborations. For example, Morgan Wallen reached Nos. 1 and 2 in 2024 through joint efforts with ERNEST on "Cowgirls" and Post Malone on "I Had Some Help." Similarly, Luke Bryan accomplished a top two ranking in 2014 with his solo "Play It Again" and a collaboration with Florida Georgia Line, "This Is How We Roll."
In related chart news, Ontario-born and Nashville-based Josh Ross has scored his second top 10 appearance on the Country Airplay chart. His single "Hate How You Look" jumped from No. 15 to No. 10, achieving 17 million audience impressions, up 14%, during the same tracking week. Ross’s previous top 10 debut with "Single Again" took 60 weeks to reach the tier, while "Hate How You Look" accomplished this in just 31 weeks. His initial single, "Trouble," did not chart on Country Airplay but appeared on Hot Country Songs in 2023.
Industry professionals have noted the consistent strength of Ross’s current single. Marci Braun, brand manager at Audacy’s WUSN-FM in Chicago, described "Hate How You Look" as "incredibly solid since the end of February," consistently ranking in the top 10. Rich Davis, program director at iHeartMedia’s KEEY-FM Minneapolis, echoed this sentiment, stating, "Josh hasn’t missed for us."
Additionally, new artist Stella Lefty makes her Country Airplay chart debut with "Boston," entering at No. 53 with 1.2 million audience impressions. This milestone also marks the first chart appearance for Atlantic Outpost, a label that launched last summer focusing on singer-songwriters.
Luke Combs’s continued dominance on the Country Airplay chart underscores his significant presence in the genre and his rare ability to simultaneously lead with multiple solo tracks.
