AceShowbiz - Darrell Sheets, known for his role on the hit A&E reality series Storage Wars, has died at the age of 67. Authorities report that his death appears to be the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
The incident occurred early Wednesday morning at his residence in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. According to a statement from the Lake Havasu City Police Department, officers responded to a call at approximately 2 a.m. on April 22, 2026, to a home located on Chandler Drive.
Upon arrival, they found a male subject who had suffered what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The individual was pronounced dead at the scene. The police department’s Criminal Investigations Unit took charge of the investigation immediately.
The police confirmed that the deceased was Darrell Sheets, a 67-year-old resident of Lake Havasu City. They also stated that Sheets’ family had been notified and that the case remains under active investigation. The body was subsequently handed over to the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office for further examination.
Darrell Sheets was a well-known figure on Storage Wars, appearing in 163 episodes from 2010 to 2013. The show’s concept centered on competing buyers who bid on storage units, hoping to uncover valuable hidden treasures.
Sheets was especially famous for his high-risk approach to the auction game. According to his bio on the A&E website, he was "addicted to the high" of storage auctions for over three decades. Unlike others who turned storage buying into a steady business, Sheets frequently aimed for the "big hit," boasting about his remarkable finds, including four Picassos and a highly valuable comic book collection.
After experiencing a heart attack in 2019, Sheets largely stepped back from the reality series but still made occasional appearances. He relocated to Arizona and operated an antiques store, continuing his passion for collectibles outside of the show.
