AceShowbiz - Monsta X has launched its latest English-language album, Unfold, marking a significant new chapter for the K-pop group. The album was released at midnight, accompanied shortly after by the official music video for the track "heal," a soulful midtempo song infused with gospel elements.
Unfold is described as a musical exploration of the complex nature of human emotions, portraying an "emotional arc of fracture, distraction, and resolution" throughout its tracks.
With this release, Monsta X becomes the first K-pop group to have three full-length English albums. Their ambition is clear: they aim not only to broaden their international presence but to firmly establish themselves as a prominent K-pop act truly connecting with the U.S. audience while preserving their distinct intensity and performance quality.
The six-member ensemble, consisting of Joohoney, I.M, Hyungwon, Kihyun, Minhyuk, and Shownu, has steadily built momentum toward this goal. In 2020, they became only the third K-pop act to reach the top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart with their first English album, All About Luv, which debuted at No. 5. Their follow-up English album, The Dreaming, released in 2021, peaked at No. 21 across all genres.
In 2025, Monsta X celebrated their 10th anniversary with the Connect X concert movie, honoring their journey alongside their fanbase, MONBEBE. Earlier that year, members Joohoney, Hyungwon, and Kihyun completed their mandatory military service, allowing the group to return to the studio and release The X EP in September as part of their milestone celebrations.
Unfold includes previously released singles such as "Growing Pains" and "baby blue," which were first performed live at iHeartRadio's 2025 Jingle Ball. Fans can stream the full album now across all platforms.
It is important to note that not all members have completed their military service; the youngest member, I.M (Im Chang-kyun), began his eighteen-month service on February 9, 2026.
Monsta X continues to solidify their unique position within the global music industry, blending authentic English-language music with their signature K-pop style, aiming to captivate audiences beyond their established fanbase.
