AceShowbiz - The Recording Academy and Grammy Museum have announced that George Clinton, Heart, Lucinda Williams, and Take 6 will join the lineup of performers for the 2026 Grammy Hall of Fame Gala, scheduled for May 8 at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
These artists are set to perform songs that are among the honored recordings at the event. Clinton, Heart, and Williams all have titles included in this year’s Grammy Hall of Fame inductions.
Previously announced performer Norah Jones will also appear at the gala, where she will receive the prestigious Ray Charles Architect of Sound Award. Additionally, Warner Records will be recognized during the Anthony Mason-hosted ceremony.
The 2026 Grammy Hall of Fame Gala will celebrate fourteen recordings spanning nearly 100 years of music history. The earliest recording honored is 1926’s "Trouble in Mind" by Bertha "Chippie" Hill, while the most recent is Williams’ 1998 album Car Wheels on a Gravel Road. Other notable inductions include Pink Moon by Nick Drake, Maggot Brain by Funkadelic, Dreamboat Annie by Heart, and All Eyez on Me by 2Pac.
The Grammy Hall of Fame was established by the Recording Academy’s national trustees to honor recordings released before the Grammy Awards began in 1959. Now, recordings that are at least 25 years old and demonstrate qualitative or historical significance are eligible for induction. A special member committee selects the honorees, with final approval by the Academy’s national board of trustees.
Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, expressed the importance of preserving these landmark recordings, stating, "Each selection reflects the creativity, craft and cultural impact that recorded music can carry across decades. We're honored to help preserve these works and celebrate the artists and communities behind them, so their legacies continue to inspire generations to come."
The gala’s production team includes former Grammy Awards executive producer Ken Ehrlich, alongside Ron Basile, Chantel Sausedo, Lindsay Saunders Carl, and Lynne Sheridan. This event promises to be a significant celebration of music history and legacy.
