AceShowbiz - Jamie Lee Curtis is stepping into the role of Jessica Fletcher in the long-anticipated Murder, She Wrote film, which Universal Pictures has scheduled for a December 22, 2027 theatrical release. This marks a new chapter for the beloved mystery series originally starring Angela Lansbury, who passed away in 2022.
The film will be directed by Jason Moore, known for his work on "Pitch Perfect," with a script penned by Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo, writers from "Orange Is the New Black." Production will be handled by notable producers Amy Pascal, Phil Lord, and Christopher Miller, who recently worked on "Project Hail Mary."
Murder, She Wrote originally aired on CBS for 12 seasons between 1984 and 1996. The series followed mystery writer and amateur detective Jessica Fletcher as she solved murders in the small coastal town of Cabot Cove, Maine. Now, Jamie Lee Curtis will bring the iconic character back to life for a new generation.
