This new installment serves as the third chapter of a Disney+ trilogy that began with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along. Mick is the son of acclaimed composer Michael Giacchino, who earned an Oscar for his score on Up and was nominated for another for Ratatouille. Michael also received Grammy nominations for his work on The Incredibles and The Batman. His extensive MCU credentials include composing scores for Doctor Strange, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Spider-Man: Far From Home. Besides composing, Michael even directed an episode of Werewolf by Night.

While it’s important to highlight Michael Giacchino’s illustrious career, it is his son Mick who has been selected to compose for VisionQuest. Mick’s career features notable achievements as well. He contributed additional music to The Batman, collaborating with his father, and has composed for projects like The Skeleton Key, The Muppets Mayhem, and Zootopia+. His most distinguished accomplishment so far is winning a Primetime Emmy Award for his work on HBO and DC’s The Penguin.

VisionQuest will explore the storyline of Vision’s fate post-WandaVision and bring together several AI entities from the MCU. James Spader reprises his role as Ultron, whose apparent destruction in Avengers: Age of Ultron left uncertainty about his true status. The series will also feature Emily Hampshire as EDITH, the AI introduced in Spider-Man: Far From Home, along with FRIDAY, the AI successor to JARVIS originally used by Iron Man. Additionally, James D’Arcy will return as JARVIS himself.

Given the focus on various AI systems across the Marvel Cinematic Universe, VisionQuest could draw from prominent comic storylines such as Iron Man 2020 and its Robot Revolution arc.
