During a heartfelt dinner conversation with co-stars Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley, the 54-year-old stylist reflected on a pivotal moment that led to the couple’s split. The scene was filmed exactly one year after what she described as the day her “whole entire life broke open.” She recounted that on that day, Rodger was in Aspen, while she stayed behind due to hosting obligations. “Whatever happened, happened and then I just split open,” she said, describing an overwhelming emotional breakdown where she found herself on the ground crying more than ever before.

Dorit, 49, pressed for more details about the argument that triggered this pain. Rachel explained, “We got into a big fight and I just was like, ‘I’m done. I’m done. I’m done.’” When Kyle, 57, asked how she found out about the incident that caused the upset, Rachel responded, “Well, he told me.” She then elaborated during a confessional interview.

Rachel described returning home from a party the night the confrontation escalated. “There was a call. Honestly, it’s like I just saw red and just hung up,” she recalled. She depicted the last two years of her marriage as the worst period, marked by repeated cycles of fighting and reconciling. “Some things happen for reasons to force your hand and in this case, that weekend, of August 2 [and] 3, 2024, just made it real f***ing easy to go,” she admitted.

She also revealed that trust had always been the foundation of their relationship. “People have always asked me over the years, what’s the secret to our success,” she said. “The first answer was always trust. It’s like, when that trust is broken, it’s like broken. There’s no going back.”

Rachel Zoe shared that she never looked at Rodger’s phone, and he never showed remorse through apology or tears. Instead, he apparently confessed to whatever had hurt her. “My reaction is, I can’t come back. I can’t unhear, I can’t unsee, I can’t unknow,” she said. She reflected on how Rodger had been a secure person in the earlier years of their relationship but changed over the last six or seven years.

In the early stages, Rachel recalled, Rodger was “so secure” and never held her back. She also clarified that while she “never cheated” on him, she did “fool around” with a model once before they were engaged. After she told him about this incident, he proposed “the next day,” showing his confidence and security in their relationship at the time.

The couple announced their separation in September 2024 after 24 years of marriage, and Rachel filed for divorce in July 2025. Their official date of separation was listed as June 27, 2024. Together they share two sons, Skyler, 14, and Kaius, 12.

Reflecting on the changes in her husband, Rachel said, “There’s nothing about the person that is, that resembles the person that was. People are allowed to change.” She added, “He made it very clear that he was very happy in who he had become.”

Despite the pain, she expressed gratitude for the clarity the situation brought her. “I have to say thank you that it happened, whatever happened. … Or else I’d spend another six years being loyal waiting for someone that I once knew to come back,” she said.

Since their split, Rodger has been publicly linked to stylist Bree Jacoby, with their relationship becoming public in September 2025. Rachel was reserved when asked about the timeline of Rodger and Bree’s relationship. “I don’t know that I can answer that really,” she told People in November 2025. “Listen, the timeline’s the timeline. And again, everything I answer is through a lens of what my children will see and hear. It is what it is. Whether or not they’re together now, I don’t really know. Life is wild, and I can say it takes a whole lot to really shock me.”
