AceShowbiz - Barry Manilow is set to release What a Time, his first new album in nearly 15 years, scheduled for June 5. This marks the 33rd studio album from Manilow and his first nearly all-original project since 2011’s 15 Minutes.
The 13-track album was produced by Manilow alongside his longtime collaborator Michael Lloyd. It features notable collaborations with Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Dave Cobb, and longtime co-writers Bruce Sussman and Adrienne Anderson. The album’s lead single, Sun Shine, was co-written by Manilow and Gary Barlow, with production by Manilow, David Benson, and Greg Bartheld.
What a Time opens with the previously released single Once Before I Go, a heartfelt love song that was executive-produced by Clive Davis and co-written by Dean Pitchford and Peter Allen. The album also includes a duet with Sharon “Muffy” Hendrix and a guest appearance by saxophonist Dave Koz, adding depth and variety to the collection.
The announcement of the new album comes shortly after Manilow had to postpone his arena tour due to surgery for the removal of a cancerous spot on his lung. Originally planned to begin his 2026 farewell tour in January, the dates were first rescheduled and then postponed again in February as Manilow required additional recovery time before returning to the stage.
He is now expected to start his tour on April 13 at UBS Arena in Belmont Park, New York. Fans can pre-order and pre-save What a Time ahead of its June release, marking an exciting new chapter for the legendary artist after a significant hiatus.
