From highly anticipated albums to compelling singles, the airwaves are buzzing with exciting releases. Fans are now invited to weigh in on their favorites in Billboard’s weekly New Music Friday poll.
Leading this week’s charge is Charli XCX, who released her captivating Wuthering Heights companion album. This lush soundtrack features spunky collaborations, including "House" with John Cale and "Eyes of the World" alongside Sky Ferreira. The album arrives concurrently with the film of the same name, directed by Oscar-winning screenwriter Emerald Fennel and starring Oscar-nominated actors Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, promising a rich multimedia experience.
Making a powerful return after a decade, Jill Scott dropped her new full-length offering, To Whom This May Concern. This highly anticipated album sets a high bar for 2026 R&B LPs with its gritty, soulful soundscape and impressive collaborations with artists like Trombone Shorty, JID, and Tierra Whack. Meanwhile, representing the new school of R&B, Brent Faiyaz also shared his new Icon LP, executive produced by the legendary Raphael Saadiq.
The hip-hop scene was equally vibrant with a plethora of new music. Fans can dive into A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s Before Artistry EP, Domani’s Forever Lasting Tape, and Feng’s Weekend Rockstar. Other notable releases include Waka Flocka Flame’s Lebron Flocka James 2K26, Eem Triplin’s A Love Song for U EP, Buddah Bless’s Buddah Bless the Streets, and Ras Kass’s Leopard Eats Face. Additionally, Central Cee unveiled his long-awaited "Iceman Freestyle," while Mike Will Made-It teamed up with Chief Keef and YoungBoy Never Broke Again for the track "Rooms."
On the singles front, Bleachers, the rock outfit led by recent Grammy-winner Jack Antonoff, followed up his accolades (Best Rap Song for "TV Off" and Record of the Year for "Luther") with the new, National-esque track "You and Forever." Pop trio MUNA also made a comeback with "Dancing on the WALL," the title track from their forthcoming fourth studio album. Enigmatic Swedish singer Lykke Li kicked off her "existential era" with the release of "Lucky Again."
Not to be outdone, Red Hot Chili Peppers founding member Flea delved back into his jazz roots. His tender new single, "Thinkin Bout You," is described as a Frank Ocean lift and offers the latest taste of his upcoming debut solo album, Honora, which is slated for release this March. This eclectic mix of releases ensures there’s something new and exciting for every musical palate.
