AceShowbiz - Donald Trump is expressing his displeasure with comedian Trevor Noah following remarks made during the recent Grammy Awards. The host of the ceremony, Noah, took a jab at Trump, suggesting he had connections with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
During his monologue, Noah, who was hosting the Grammys for the fifth time, humorously referenced Trump after singer Billie Eilish won the award for Song of the Year with her hit, “Wildflower.” He quipped, “That is a Grammy that every artist wants… almost as much as Trump wants Greenland,” adding, “Which makes sense, I mean, because Epstein’s island is gone, he needs a new one to hang out with Bill Clinton.”
The former host of The Daily Show made it clear that he was unfiltered this evening, as it was his final stint hosting the Grammy Awards. “I told you it’s my last year! What are you gonna do about it?” he joked, indicating he felt liberated to speak freely.
Trump did not take kindly to the comments. He took to TruthSocial to express his disdain for the Grammy Awards, likening them to when Jimmy Kimmel hosted the Oscars, someone with whom he has had a long-standing feud. “The Grammy Awards are the WORST, virtually unwatchable!” he stated, criticizing the political messages from celebrities aimed at his administration, particularly regarding immigration policies.
While he slammed the entire ceremony, Trump’s focus was primarily on Noah and his insinuations about Trump’s alleged ties to Epstein. “The host, Trevor Noah, whoever he may be, is almost as bad as Jimmy Kimmel at the Low Ratings Academy Awards,” he remarked, before targeting Noah's claims directly. “Noah said, INCORRECTLY about me, that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein Island. WRONG!!!”
He further defended himself, stating, “I can’t speak for Bill, but I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close, and until tonight’s false and defamatory statement, have never been accused of being there, not even by the Fake News Media.”
In a surprising twist, Trump threatened to pursue legal action against Noah, drawing on his past experiences with litigation. He referenced a $15 million settlement he received after suing ABC News and George Stephanopoulos for defamation. “Noah, a total loser, better get his facts straight, and get them straight fast,” Trump wrote. “It looks like I’ll be sending my lawyers to sue this poor, pathetic, talentless, dope of an M.C., and suing him for plenty$.”
As the fallout from this exchange unfolds, it remains to be seen how Noah will respond and whether Trump’s legal threats will materialize into an actual lawsuit. The incident has certainly sparked discussions about freedom of speech and the responsibilities of public figures in their commentary.
