While gearing up for the release of her new album 'Dreamsicle,' Maren Morris opens up about her latest musical journey and the challenges that came with it.

AceShowbiz - Maren Morris discussed her evolving musical landscape during a "TalkShopLive" stream with Kathy Buccio. The "carry me through" singer is making waves with her upcoming album, "Dreamsicle", which marks her transition from country roots to pop vibes.
Amid promoting her album, Morris, 35, shared insights about her genre-shifting experience and the support she received from notable artists while on tour with The Chicks. She was asked if she had spoken with genre-fluid icon Taylor Swift about navigating different musical realms.
"I couldn't have imagined a better support system than being able to talk to Martie [Maguire], Emily [Strayer], and Natalie [Maines], and people like Taylor who have really navigated those worlds in very different ways, obviously," she said.
Morris recounted how these conversations, which took place two years ago, were invaluable because the journey of changing lanes "can feel really isolating sometimes."
Having those who have experienced similar transitions offer guidance and "peace talks" meant a great deal to her. "I mean, I love girls' girls," Morris added.
Despite her move towards pop, Morris reassures her fans that she isn't abandoning her country origins. "I don't think I have to step between [genres]. I don't think I have to choose the music I'm doing. I just write it and it goes where it goes," she explained.
The singer's latest project, "Dreamsicle", set to release on May 9, is her first major album since her divorce from Ryan Hurd. It follows her EP "Intermission", released last August, and her 2022 LP "Humble Quest".
While working on "Dreamsicle", Morris emphasized the therapeutic nature of the album. "I feel like if it doesn't feel like a risk, it's probably not worth doing," she reflected, adding she aimed to leave "enough on the bone to satisfy my healing."
In her discussion with PEOPLE in March, Morris stated, "I'm not here to make a villain out of anyone or a hero out of myself. We all have both inside of us, so I just wanted to tell whatever would heal my heart."
"Dreamsicle" is available for preorder now, offering fans a chance to experience Maren Morris's heartfelt and genre-defying musical journey.
