AceShowbiz - When tennis icon Serena Williams took her family to the 2025 Super Bowl, she had a special mission in mind: securing an autograph from pop sensation Taylor Swift for her daughter, Olympia. However, as the Philadelphia Eagles crushed the Kansas City Chiefs' dreams of a three-peat, she decided to hold off on approaching the pop star.
In a candid interview with Time, Williams, 43, shared the details of her Super Bowl experience. Accompanied by her husband, Alexis Ohanian, and their daughter, the family had high hopes of meeting Swift in her suite. But the tense atmosphere, amidst the Chiefs' ongoing struggle in the game, made it clear that it was not the right moment to ask for an autograph.
"I'm such a mom," admitted Williams, who welcomed her second daughter Adira in August 2023. "I was ready to go in here myself and be like, 'Taylor, come get this girl.' However, "It's hard when your team is losing," said Williams of her decision not to ask Swift for the autograph, adding, "I totally get it."
The Super Bowl venue, Caesar's Superdome, saw mixed reactions to Swift's presence, especially when the star was shown on the jumbotron during the game. "Why would you boo her? That's so mean. That's just awful," commented Williams on the unfortunate incident.
The tennis star made it clear via social media that she had nothing but love for Swift. "I love you @taylorswift13 don't listen to those booo!!" Williams tweeted in defense of the "Karma" singer.
During the Super Bowl, Serena Williams also addressed her controversial cameo in Kendrick Lamar's halftime show, where she was seen doing the crip walk. Although some believed her appearance was meant to slight her ex, Drake, she clarified, "Absolutely not," adding that she would "never do that."
