Following Blue Origin's all-female space mission, Olivia Munn shares a meme featuring Katy Perry's pictures while Amy Schumer mockingly talks about bringing a toy to the edge of space.

AceShowbiz - This week's all-female Blue Origin mission, headed by Jeff Bezos' fiancee, Lauren Sanchez, and joined by celebrities like Katy Perry and journalist Gayle King, has sparked a wave of discussions on social media. Although hailed by many as a historic milestone, several prominent figures have criticized the voyage as being extravagant and unnecessary.

Shortly after the flight was livestreamed and the crew safely landed back on Earth, Olivia Wilde mocked it on her Instagram Story. With a sarcastic tone mirroring the disbelief and skepticism shared by others, she re-shared pictures of Katy Perry holding a daisy before the flight and kissing Mother Earth upon her return.

"Billion dollars bought some good memes I guess," Wilde commented on a viral post that captioned Katy's photos, "Getting off a commercial flight in 2025."

Amy Schumer was even more merciless as she added a comic yet scathing remark over Instagram, joking that she received a last-minute invite to the space mission. "Guys, last second they added me to space, and I'm going to space," she quipped.

"I'm bringing this thing," Schumer said while holding a Black Panther toy, seemingly poked fun at Katy Perry bringing a daisy on the flight.

"It has no meaning to me, but it was in my bag. And I was on the Subway, and I got the text, and they were like, 'Do you want to go to space?' so I'm going to space," Schumer went on. "Thank you to everyone who got me here. I'll see you guys in space."

Further adding to the criticism, Emily Ratajkowski called the mission "end time s**t" in a TikTok video. She questioned the environmental impact of the venture, noting the contradiction of promoting environmental concerns while utilizing considerable resources for space tourism.

They joined early critic Olivia Munn, who criticized the flight on "Today With Jenna & Friends" earlier this month. "There are so many other things that are so important in the world right now...," she explained.

"It's so much money to go to space, and there are a lot of people who can't even afford eggs. What's the point? Is it historic that you guys are going on a ride? I think it's a bit gluttonous."

However, Lauren Sanchez and Gayle King defended the mission, with the CBS anchor saying, "We can all speak to the response we're getting from young women about what this represents."

Meanwhile, Sanchez invited critics to visit Blue Origin and witness the dedication and passion of its employees. "They love their work and they love the mission and it's a big deal for them. So when we hear comments like that, I just say, trust me. Come with me. I'll show you what this is about, and it's, it's really eye opening," she said.
