AceShowbiz - Disney is ready to whisk audiences back to the island of Hawaii with its live-action adaptation of the 2002 animated hit, "Lilo & Stitch". During their CinemaCon presentation on Thursday, April 3, the studio unveiled a new clip from the film, stoking excitement ahead of its May 23 release.
The film, directed by Dean Fleischer Camp and written by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright and Mike Van Waes, focuses on the touching tale of Lilo, a lonely Hawaiian girl, and Stitch, a fugitive alien.
What begins as an unlikely friendship quickly becomes a story of family and belonging -a theme that resonates deeply with fans. Maia Kealoha plays Lilo, with Sydney Elizebeth Agudong as Nani, her older sister, and Chris Sanders returning to voice Stitch.
The clip now available online offers a glimpse into the playful dynamic between Lilo and Stitch. The scene unfolds after a heated moment at Lilo's hula class, leading her to tag along with her sister to Nani's workplace.
Unable to leave her new "dog" unattended, Lilo and Stitch end up at a picnic table in the restaurant. Stitch, being his mischievous self, manages to sneak behind the bar and turn a soda gun into a chaotic but hilarious showdown, much to Lilo's dismay and the audience's delight.
The cast is rounded out with notable names like Billy Magnussen, Tia Carrere, Hannah Waddingham, Courtney B. Vance, and Zach Galifianakis.
Armed with nostalgic charm and modern storytelling, "Lilo & Stitch" promises to bring both new and old fans to the theaters, eager to experience this endearing tale once more, this time with a fresh twist.
