AceShowbiz - Rihanna took to Instagram to share her joy following the acquittal of her partner, A$AP Rocky in gun assault trial. "The Glory belongs to God and God alone," she wrote. "THANKFUL, HUMBLED BY HIS MERCY!"
Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Athelaston Mayers, was accused of firing a semi-automatic handgun at fellow A$AP Mob member A$AP Relli during a November 2021 incident.
Rocky had consistently maintained his innocence, refusing a plea deal that involved a six-month jail term. If convicted, Rocky could have faced up to 24 years in prison.
Rihanna has been a frequent presence during Rocky's three-week trial. The pop superstar even brought their two young sons, RZA and Riot, to show support during closing arguments, but a judge instructed that there should be no mention of Rihanna or her children in the courtroom.
The couple have been dating since 2020. After the verdict was announced in Los Angeles, Rocky and Rihanna shared a hug in relief. "Thank y'all for saving my life," he said. "Thank y'all for making the right decision."
